Join us for Backbending Basics with Britni. Learn how to create safe and happy backbends. Strengthen your core. Open your heart and have fun with other yogis! Some vinyasa yoga experience is recommended. (Approx 2-2.5 hours)

Join us for class with a special guest on Friday, Jan. 27 for the 5:30pm practice. John Guinta will provide live music for the practice. John studied at SLU years ago and is a licensed massage therapist and reflexologist in Florida.
John plays at yoga studios all over the country and we are honored to have him in Hammond at Downtown Yoga.  John kindly plays for no charge but donations are accepted.

Sun Salutations (or Surya Namaskar A & B) are the most commonly found flowing sequences in yoga classes. And if you're going to be doing a lot of Chaturanga, Upward Dog and Downward Dog in every class, why not make sure you're doing them well? Together, we'll break down the poses that make up these sequences and discuss:
• Safe alignment
• Modifications
• Foundations that build on more advanced poses
• Breath and more.
Some yoga experience is recommended.

Casey is a Santa Monica-based, 500 HR Yoga Works Trained Instructor. Casey grew up in Metairie and graduated from LSU. While teaching at Yoga Works in Santa Monica, Casey enjoys bringing balance into people’s day to day lives through her empowering yoga classes and coaching services.
